What makes both BMW i8 models unique is the exceptional lightweight concept called LifeDrive architecture. It consists of the Drive module – an aluminium chassis – and the Life module – an ultralight passenger compartment made of high-strength carbon-fibre. Together they create sustainability and perfect weight balance, and deliver unmatched sportiness.

    THE i8 COUPÉ.

The BMW i8 Coupé had all the characteristics of a full-blooded sports car with its long wheelbase, short overhangs and a solid posture. The entire shape and form followed the BMW i design philosophy, including the V-shaped black belt. The unmistakable design element ran from the front, over the roof, to the rear. A stream flow approach incorporated redesigned Aero Curtains, U-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights and LED rear lights, and of course the prominent double kidney grille.
