WHEN DO I NEED AN MOT AND WHY?
An MOT check is one of the most complicated and in-depth inspections your car will have. Year by year, to keep your BMW running as smoothly as the day you bought it, you will need to book in for an MOT. A BMW MOT is delivered by trained BMW Technicians, at a lower price than you might expect.
After three years of owning a new BMW vehicle you should book in for an MOT test. Following that, you will be required to book in an MOT every year moving forwards.
The standard inspection of safety and emissions related systems, including lights, steering, brakes and suspension, ensures your BMW meets legal requirements, as well as helping preserve the driving experience you have come to enjoy.
DO I NEED TO GO TO BMW FOR AN MOT?
No, it is not mandatory that you come to us to complete your BMW’s MOT.

A FEW QUESTIONS ANSWERED.
Question: What happens if I fail my MOT?
Answer: We’ll help prepare your vehicle for its MOT as much as we can and in the unlikely event that it does fail its MOT, we will work with you to find the reasons why and to ensure it passes a second time round.
Question: What exactly does an MOT inspection include?
Answer: A BMW MOT includes a thorough vehicle inspection. If your BMW passes its inspection, you will be issued with an official VT20 certificate which is your receipt for the MOT test and shows the information that will be held on the MOT database. Any recommended additional work will be listed on the advisory notice of the VT32 document.
You can visit the DVSA website for more information on exactly what your vehicle will need to pass.Question: When is my MOT due?
Answer: The first MOT would need to be completed three years from registration of a new car. Then, after that, it should be completed annually.
Do you have anymore questions?
- *MOT Protect will cover all items with the exception of the windscreen, wheels, tyres and items replaced as part of routine servicing (e.g. brake disks and pads) modified and/or non-BMW components. MOT Protect does not cover the cost of the MOT inspection itself.
